(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 31 - Ocean Viking today made four interventions in the waters of the Mediterranean, bringing a total of 196 migrants to safety, according to SosMediterranée.
This morning 57 people had been recovered from an indifference dinghy sighted in international waters in the Libyan SRR.
Among the survivors, 8 women and 11 minors, including 5 children under 12 years of age. Later, 64 people were rescued from a distressed wooden boat.
In the afternoon, two more rescues in the Libyan SRR. 54 people were rescued from a rubber boat. Many of the survivors, especially women, were physically exhausted.
Some report fuel burns. In the fourth operation 21 people were recovered, including 7 women and 3 minors, who were on a wooden boat in distress. (HANDLE).
