Pnrr changes the face of trains, down travel times, less Co2

In the infrastructure annex to the Def, it is estimated a 38% reduction in the gap in the distribution of railway accessibility and an increase in the use of rail transport by 66% (ANSA)


 The implementation of the railway planning envisaged by the NRP "would lead to a weighted average reduction (compared to 2021) in the average train travel time of approximately 17.2%". This is what emerges from the Infrastructure Annex to the Def, which analyzes the contribution of the Plan to the achievement of the sustainable development goals in rail transport. A 38% reduction in inequalities in the distribution of rail accessibility is also estimated. While as regards the modal shift, an increase in the use of rail transport of 66% is estimated to the detriment of private transport.
