When the cable car arrives, a strange song greets the stunned visitors.
Soon caught up with the dismal ringing of the bells announcing the return in tutti of the orchestra, on its initial theme emerging from the depths, the woods sing a singular bird melody… Not of those that one usually hears in the massif Ecrins, a paradise for hiking and budding bird watchers.
This melody is that of the uraapuru, a legendary Amazonian bird, whose song is said to be as sublime as it is difficult to hear.
