"We both know that our marriage is no longer working": Because of political talker Tucker Carlson, Seth MacFarlane distances himself from the US broadcaster Fox. His cartoon hit »Family Guy« has been running there since 1999.

It was the US television station Fox who recognized the talent of the cartoon filmmaker Seth MacFarlane and ordered the animated series called "Family Guy" from him, which made the future film star ("Ted") famous.

"Family Guy" has been running on the Fox Network since 1999.

But the relationship between MacFarlane and Fox has long since cooled - also for political reasons.

While MacFarlane regularly recommends and summarizes articles about the coronavirus on his Twitter account that relate to scientific studies and the recommendations and warnings of the CDC, the presenter Tucker Carlson takes the opposite position on the news channel Fox News.

Carlson recently extensively criticized the CDC's positions on vaccinations and masks.

On Sunday evening, Seth MacFarlane broke the collar publicly on Twitter.

Tucker Carlson's latest opinion piece made him want "Family Guy" to be on another station.

“Look, Fox, we both know our marriage is no longer working,” the tweet continued: “We only have sex once a year, I don't like your mother and, well ... I have one Affair started with NBC «.

The "affair with NBC" is likely to be an allusion to a contract that Seth MacFarlane had signed with NBC Universal Content Studios in January 2020 - after two decades with the then production company 20th Century Fox (which has been part of Disney since 2019 - different than the TV station).

While MacFarlane's science fiction series "The Orville" and his animated series "American Dad" are now running on other US stations after their respective beginnings at Fox, the running time of "Family Guy" at Fox was not extended until September 2020 by two more seasons extended.

Together with the »Simpsons« and »Bob's Burgers«, the series about the Griffin family forms an animation focus every Sunday in the Fox program.
