A new confined French island.
Guadeloupe will be reconfined for a period of at least three weeks from Wednesday 8 p.m. in the face of the meteoric rise in Covid-19 cases, prefect Alexandre Rochatte announced Monday at a press conference.

The West Indian island thus follows the neighboring territory of Martinique, confined since Friday evening for three weeks as well.
"At night, the curfew is strict and advanced to 8 p.m. until 5 a.m., and during the day there are movement restrictions in a 10 km sphere around his home," said the prefect, referring to "essential measures" in the face of the surge in cases.
