The initiators of the Lollapalooza Festival, which took place in Chicaco over the weekend, have banned US rapper DaBaby from performing.

DaBaby had previously insulted gays and women in Miami and spread false information about the HIV virus and AIDS.

The rapper called on his fans to hold up their glowing smartphones and said, “If you didn't come here today with HIV, AIDS or some other sexually transmitted disease that you will die of in two or three weeks, then hold yours Cell phone lights up «.

»Lollapalooza was founded on the basis of diversity, inclusiveness, respect and love.

With this in mind, DaBaby will no longer perform in Grant Park, ”declared the initiators of the festival in Chicago on Sunday (local time) on Twitter.

Instead of the musician, the rappers Young Thug and G Herbo performed.

DaBaby, whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, later apologized for his statements in a video message on Instagram.

But his apology caused renewed criticism because the rapper said his gay fans had no AIDS because they were "class" and not "junkies."

Several artists distanced themselves from DaBaby after the incident.

The musician Dua Lipa, who published the song "Levitating" with the rapper, wrote on Instagram that she was "surprised and horrified" by his statements.

The musician Elton John accused DaBaby of spreading misinformation and thus contributing to the stigmatization of the disease.

"HIV misinformation and homophobia have no place in the music industry," said the artist's foundation on Twitter.
