The Whatsapp messenger service introduces a new function.
The feature is intended to protect stressed nerves, especially when on vacation.
Munich - Around 100 billion Whatsapp messages are sent every day, estimated Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the autumn of last year.
So it's no wonder that some users are happy about a Messenger break.
Holidays are particularly suitable for this.
WhatsApp has a new function for users: The "vacation mode" is intended to enable relaxing days - without annoying notifications from individual and group chats.

Whatsapp: "Vacation mode" promises a break in messages from unpleasant chats
As the portal
WABetaInfo
reports, Whatsapp has been working in "vacation
mode
" since 2018.
The feature should now be available in the coming weeks.
With the new function, certain chats can be muted by permanently ending up in the "archive".
The innovation is reminiscent of the "mute" feature, but the "vacation mode" is more flexible.
Instead of eight hours, a week or always, chats can be permanently moved to the "archive".
New messages arrive, but the messenger remains silent.
So far you could move chats manually to the "archive", but when a new message was received, it was visible again in the chat overview.
Whatsapp: New archiving feature is not a must
With the new “vacation” function, archived chats remain mute, even if a new message has been received. Users who want to do without the new feature can restore the usual archiving function. To do this, it is necessary to tap on “More options” and then “Settings” in the app. If the "Chats" field has been selected, the "Leave chats in archive" option can be deactivated. The new archiving function is still a beta version, but it should soon be available to all Whatsapp users in Germany. (
