(ANSA) - BERLIN, AUGUST 03 - The Minister of Finance and candidate for the Chancellery for Social Democrats Olaf Scholz expects the total damage caused by the flood to exceed 6 billion euros: this was stated in Stolberg, one of the affected countries near Aachen, in a joint visit together with Armin Laschet, candidate for the conservators of the Csu-Cdu Union. The sum of 6 billion in damages was added for the last tragic flood of 2013, which however had a less destructive impact than the flood of 15 July.

"We want to help everyone to rebuild, to repair the damage - and for all of this we are dealing with billions." The two candidates therefore anticipated that in the meeting of the Council of Ministers tomorrow, measures will be taken to lighten the businesses involved in the flood, while in September, before the elections, a law will be approved that establishes the fundamental requirements for reconstruction.
