Google has officially confirmed on Twitter the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, new generation smartphones.
The move is unusual because the Mountain View giant had already stated that the '6' family would be announced, with a digital-only event, in the fall.
And in fact, what Google has done, at least so far, has been to better explain the hardware innovations that will accompany the two devices, without dwelling on prices and availability.
We know then that on board the phones we will find Tensor, the processor produced in house and that Google had identified with the codename Whitechapel. The company pointed out that the chip focuses on artificial intelligence operations, promising improvements in daily usage, including optimizations for photo taking and video recording and battery balancing.
Google has also stated that the Pixel 6 will be the smartphones with the highest number of security 'layers' on the market, to defend the stored information from external attacks. The particular design of both is also confirmed, with an upper bar that retains the optics, raising the panel. The availability of Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro is scheduled for autumn even if, at the moment, the only reference of the company is to the US site. The specialized Android Police portal has identified eight reference pages from as many markets: USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, United Kingdom, France and Germany.
