Sony has just unveiled a new side of
Venom: It's Going to Be Carnage,
its spin-off from the
Spider-Man series.
The first film in the saga generated more than 720 million euros in 2018. Together with Marvel, the studio hopes to meet similar success when this sequel hits theaters on September 24.
This new trailer, which tells a large part of the upcoming film and finds time to do product placement, outlines the duel between serial killer Cletus Kasady, played by Woody Harrelson, and Venom, the beast who lives journalist Eddie Brock, played by Tom Hardy.

It is shown Kasady obtaining his superpowers and becoming Carnage after biting Brock when the two cross paths at the Ravencroft Institute, a high security prison. "
I often think of you, Eddie, because you and I are the same. Every decision you made, who do we leave behind and how do we leave them?
He says in the trailer.
While Kasady gives free rein to his parasite and his murderous instincts, Brock tries to communicate with his alter ego to prevent him from taking over his life and his decisions.
To the point of generating certain comic scenes.
But the film is built above all on the face-to-face meeting between the two monsters and the sacrifices that it implies.
Brock ends up begging his inner animal to take possession of his body so he can face Carnage.
Even if it means promising him to
"let everyone eat
".

Kelly Marcel signs the screenplay for this new installment, co-written with Tom Hardy. As a monster regular, Andy Serkis (
Lord of the Rings
Gollum
)
directs the film, which features Michelle Williams and Naomie Harris in the cast. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Macel, Hardy and Hutch Parker are in production.
