(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 03 - The authorities of the Sudanese province of Kassala have found in the waters of the Setit river (called Tekeze in Ethiopia) about 50 corpses that would arrive from nearby Tigré, the scene for months of a violent conflict among the People's Liberation Front of the Tigréed authorities of Addis Ababa. This was said by an official of the Khartoum government, protected by anonymity, reports the Guardian.
Many of the bodies found in the last few days, witnesses said, showed gunshot wounds. Others had their hands tied. A doctor who escaped from Tigré, Tewodros Tefera, said that he and other refugees had buried at least ten corpses, certainly of killed Tigrinians.
A Twitter account linked to the Ethiopian government has defined the discovery of the 'fake news' corpses spread by "propagandists" of the independence forces of Tigré. (HANDLE).
