Video: fatal fire in a building in Caseros, two firefighters killed and one seriously injured

Two volunteer firefighters died and one was seriously injured

 in a fire in a building in the Buenos Aires town of Caseros, Partido de 3 de Febrero.

The flames destroyed an apartment on the fifth floor of a complex located at Marco Polo and Av San Martín.

Ten fire crews and several SAME ambulances worked at the site for several hours.

The fire is controlled.

As reported by the TN news channel, the firefighters who lost their lives are

, who belonged to the Caseros Fire Department.

to the Ramón Carrillo Hospital in Ciudadela and his condition continues to be serious: he is admitted to intensive care.

In addition, a neighbor inhaled carbon monoxide and was treated at the scene.

In principle, because the police investigations have not yet been carried out, according to the owner of the place where the accident occurred, the fire started due to an electrical failure in one of the devices that was plugged into her apartment.

After the arrival of the first supplies, the building was completely evacuated.

According to some testimonies, the firefighters tried to turn off the main light from an upper floor, the sixth.

But the smoke rose very thick and so fast that the

three firefighters

did not have time to

escape

.

The large amount of smoke inhaled caused them to decompensate and they were rushed to the Hospital.

There, two of them lost their lives.

In addition to the ten fire crews, SAME, the Tres de Febrero transit corps and the Buenos Aires Police worked there.


From very early the sirens of the fire trucks were heard in the area, which around noon continues to be fenced and cut off to traffic.
