At least 138 people died in the flood disaster in the Ahrweiler district in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Now the German Weather Service (DWD) has again forecast heavy rain for the region.

On Tuesday it can rain up to 35 liters per square meter within six hours, as the DWD announced on its website in the morning.

The weather warning applies on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Ahrweiler district was particularly hard hit by the flood disaster in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The DWD also announced rain and thunderstorms for other parts of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.

Storms with heavy rain are therefore most likely in the north.

The temperatures on Tuesday are 17 to 21 degrees.

In the night of Wednesday showers and thunderstorms should slowly subside.

In the second half of the night, according to the meteorologists, it is mostly dry with lows of 13 to 11 degrees, in the mountainous region sometimes around 8 degrees.

On Wednesday it should only show intermittent showers with maximum temperatures between 18 degrees in the higher mountains and up to 22 degrees on the Rhine.
