In the field of live music under pandemic conditions, there have been repeated scandal over the past few weeks. Helge Schneider canceled a series of beach chair concerts because he felt artistically impaired by the hygiene rules. At an open-air performance, Nena called for disregard of the Corona rules, after which another planned concert was canceled by the organizer. Music events are currently still difficult - and due to the distance rules, which only allow a small amount of space, they are rarely really lucrative.
But now music organizers draw hope in view of the progress in vaccination. You are calling for an end to the corona restrictions for the indoor area from October. Since everyone can now be vaccinated, the legal basis "to continue to restrict basic rights and the free exercise of one's profession," said the Association of Music Venues in Germany (LiveKomm) on Wednesday.
The increasing progress in vaccination and the lower overall social risk would have to be reflected in opening steps and adapted measures.
The organizers therefore demanded the lifting of the mask and distance requirement for live and club events.
The LiveKomm representatives have a kind of two-stage concept in mind: the clubs should be allowed a utilization of 100 percent if only those who have recovered or have been vaccinated are in the interior.
If guests also tested negative, the occupancy limit should drop to 50 percent.
"Since the common Covid-19 rapid tests are too unsafe, a negative PCR test result is required for admission to the music venues for those who have neither been vaccinated nor recovered," it said.
In any case, digital contact recording should take place.
The organizers put the measures outlined in a larger social context.
The controlled opening of the clubs could also help to increase vaccination readiness.
"Experienced benefits of a vaccination - such as participating in club culture events - motivate in a positive way and give people an impetus, who may not see a reason to vaccinate without these offers," argued the club operators.
The statement goes on to say: “Club culture stands for social freedom, for the search for artistic and individual freedom, and is an expression of this.
She must therefore not starve to death on the long arm of the pandemic. "
