Do you earn less than 50,000 euros a year and are you satisfied with it? Then you are not part of the majority of Germans

The 2021 salary report shows how much Germans earn on average - and what salary people in this country are most satisfied with.

The gross average salary in Germany is 56,985 euros per year, as shown in the StepStone salary report 2021.

In terms of the average salary, it looks best in southern Germany, it continues:

Bavaria earns an average of 60,013 euros gross annually, Baden-Württemberg residents 60,182 euros and the Hessians even 60,936 euros a year.

The results of the StepStone online job platform also show: Personnel responsibility pays off in the truest sense of the word.

With 66,130 euros, managers receive an average of 16,500 euros more than skilled workers without personnel responsibility.

And there are also big differences within the industries

Doctors have an average annual gross income of 100,762 euros, bankers receive an average of 62,744 euros and lawyers an average of 68,642 euros.

Money is not everything. Enjoying your job also plays an important - if not the more important - role. StepStone Salary Report 2021 also analyzed which salary makes employees satisfied or very satisfied.

The result:

Those who are satisfied with their salary earn an average of 64,253 euros per year

.

Those who receive an average of EUR 81,503 gross annually describe themselves as "very satisfied" with their salary.

Around one in ten people was not satisfied with their income, as the salary report also says.

Those who were dissatisfied with their salary were those who had an average of 40,517 euros a year.
