A family doctor who does not want to treat anti-corona vaccination opponents in his practice must be protected by the police after hate reports and threats.
"We take the threat seriously, so we have taken measures to protect the doctor and his team," said a spokeswoman for the Osnabrück police station on Wednesday.
According to the information, the doctor from Wallenhorst in Lower Saxony had received a large number of messages of criminal relevance - including insults and threats.
Investigations were officially initiated against the authors of the news.
“We expressly warn against joining this form of hate crime.
It's not a form of freedom of expression, ”said the spokeswoman.
"This is criminal"
The history: A woman had accused the 37-year-old doctor of refusing her a prescription because he was not treating any unvaccinated people in principle. The doctor denied this to various media. The man told Norddeutscher Rundfunk in Lower Saxony that the decision was made in the team to protect employees. The Medical Association in Lower Saxony (ÄKN) wants to review the case.
According to the NDR, the German Trade Union Federation (DGB) is behind the family doctor.
The hatred against him transports fascist ideas at its core, according to the DGB.
The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians is also at the side of the family doctor: "I am shocked that the colleague in Wallenhorst was given police protection due to death threats or threats and insults from his employees," said the Osnabrück District Executive Uwe Lankenfeld.
"This is criminal."
