The signatories of this forum believe that this health pass could force them to "refuse to serve a drink or allow people to attend an event with whom we have known for years".
It is a decision taken "in the name of the defense of individual freedom to come and go in public places" according to the press release.
"A red line has been crossed"
Established in 38 Breton municipalities (Brest, Concarneau, Saint-Brieuc, Lorient, Lannion, etc.), the 44 signatory restaurateurs and bistros believe that a “red line has been crossed”.
They nevertheless say they are "fully aware of the health context" and do not wish to "question the relevance of the vaccine".

In the event that the health pass is not verified, the solidarity-based Breton restaurateurs are liable to a fine of 1,500 euros.
After three offenses, it becomes an offense and the restaurant owner faces a prison sentence of one year and a fine of 9,000 euros.
The health pass comes into force on Monday, August 9, subject to the decision expected this Thursday from the Constitutional Council, seized by left-wing deputies.
