Videos of an airplane passenger tied to his seat with tape cause a stir in the United States.
The recordings were made on a flight from Philadelphia to Miami over the weekend.
Concerning the incident, the airline Frontier announced that the passenger had made inappropriate physical contact with two flight attendants and physically assaulted one of their colleagues.
The passenger then had to be held until the plane landed in Miami and the man was arrested.
Videos show a young man screaming around on the plane, lashing out and then being tied to the seat with duct tape. The 22-year-old is said to have ordered several alcoholic drinks on the flight, as US media reported, citing the police. After all, he is said to have molested the two flight attendants and attacked the other flight attendant. In the end, passengers would have helped tame the man.
This situation is one of the "worst examples" of what can happen during a flight, said the flight attendants union. “A drunk and angry passenger verbally, physically and sexually assaulted several members of the crew. When he refused to attempt several de-escalation attempts, the crew was forced to restrain the passenger using the means available on board. ”The crew had the full support of the union.
There had previously been great excitement because the airline had reportedly suspended the flight attendants involved.
Frontier eventually stated that employees had been paid paid leave for the duration of the investigation into the incident.
The airline has the highest appreciation, respect and support for all flight attendants - including those who were attacked on this flight.
