Aston Martin requests the revision of the disqualification of Sebastian Vettel, who finished second in the Hungarian Grand Prix last Sunday, but canceled from the standings due to an irregularity. Vettel was disqualified five hours after the end of the GP because it was not possible to take a liter of petrol from his tank, as required by the regulation. "There is nothing to suggest that (his) car benefited from a performance advantage as a result of the alleged violation of the regulations or that it was deliberate," Aston Martin says in the appeal.

Most importantly, the British team adds that, according to their data, there was 1.74 liters of fuel in the car after the race.

The discovery of this "relevant new evidence concerning the sanction and which was not available at the time of the decision of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) commissioners" justifies this revision, Vettel's team believes.

The disqualification of the latter allowed the British Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and the Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr (Ferrari) to finish second and third in the race won by the French Esteban Ocon (Alpin).
