Covid: Spain, 2 more weeks of curfew in Barcelona

The Spanish justice has validated the request of the Catalan regional government to maintain the curfew as an anti-Covid measure in Barcelona and other municipalities in the north-east of the Iberian country due to the high rates of contagion. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - MADRID, AUGUST 05 - Spanish justice has validated the request of the Catalan regional government to maintain the curfew as an anti-Covid measure in Barcelona and in other municipalities in the north-east of the Iberian country due to the high rates of contagion.

This is learned from a communiqué from the Regional Court of Catalonia.

The restriction on freedom of movement at night - valid from 1 am to 6 am - will remain in effect at least until 20 August.


    In all, the Iberian media explain, there will now be 176 communicatalans for which the curfew will be valid, 13 more than until today: the regional authorities have in fact asked to change the criterion according to which the situation of common is at high risk. Now a cumulative incidence of new cases registered in the last 7 days will be sufficient, equal to more than 250 per 100,000 inhabitants, and no more than 400 per 100,000. (HANDLE).
