American actress Kate Bosworth and her husband, director Michael Polish, have split up.
On Instagram, the couple announced the end of their eight-year marriage on Thursday.
To a photo in which the two kiss exuberantly, they posted a longer message about the beginning of their love and the fear that it might end one day.
"Our hearts are full, because we have never been so in love and so deeply grateful for one another as we were when we made this decision to separate," the couple wrote.
They would let go of each other now, but their love would never end.
38-year-old Bosworth was best known for films like "Blue Crush", "Still Alice" and "Superman Returns".
She met Polish in 2011 while filming the film "Big Sur", which he directed and she was in front of the camera.
In August 2013 they said yes.
