Rugby tragedy: a 15-year-old teenager died during his first practice

A 15-year-old adolescent attended

his first practice at the Lince Rugby Club in Tucumán

and when he began physical activity he fainted and died.

It is not known so far if he suffered from any previous condition. 

According to eyewitness accounts, he

had come to the club through two friends

who were already members and players in the club's lower divisions.

It was the young man's first time playing rugby.

The teenager -identified as TA- appeared with his classmates and teachers, toured the club's facilities and participated in the warm-up with the rest of the group.

It was at that moment that he

collapsed to the ground.

The physical trainer

performed CPR maneuvers on him

, but when he did not identify any type of reaction to the attempts to revive him, they called a 107 ambulance and transferred him to the Padilla Hospital where he was admitted without life.

“The young man arrived lifeless.

Advanced CPR maneuvers were performed on him, but he could not leave, ”the hospital director, Olga Fernández, told Cadena 3.

"The Police were informed so that Legal Medicine could act," said Fernández.

After the tragic event,

the Lince club suspended all

children's rugby

activities

until Sunday inclusive.

"This event, so sudden, fleeting and painful fills us with sadness and pain. We ask God to give the necessary strength to their loved ones at such a difficult time," the club said through a WhatsApp chain to its members .

Lince Jorge's lawyer and legal representative maintained that the young man had arrived at the training session accompanying a friend.

The latter's father was the one who took him in a private vehicle to the Angel Padilla Hospital, "due to the seriousness" of the situation.

"There is no one accused and the cause of death is being investigated," explained Muñoz, who also described that there are health protocols, but emphasized that

the minor "had been minutes" at the club.

"They are general recommendations, when the registration of a person is decided, with the respective consent, when it comes to a minor. It was a warm-up activity.

It did not last 20 minutes.

Generally, when the athlete is received, the procedure is to take your personal information and then laboratory studies are requested, to be able to discharge you. This happened practically simultaneously with the exercise of the activity, "said the lawyer.

The Public Prosecutor's Office intervenes in the case, which ordered the participation of the Legal Medicine area to investigate the cause, which in principle was classified as a doubtful death.
