TikTok, the popular short video app, is experimenting with a new feature similar to Snapchat and Instagram Stories.
The news was confirmed by a company spokesperson on The Verge website.
Simply called 'TikTok Stories', the feature is very similar to the stories that have made the fortune of competing social networks.
These are content to be shown in a scrolling sidebar, made available only for 24 hours after their first publication. And just like on Instagram and Snapchat, subscribers can comment on stories and leave 'reactions' to them, in the form of icons. TikTok describes the feature as "a new way to interact with fans". In this regard, just tap the "create" button, added to the app bar, to upload and record new videos, to be integrated with any captions, music and text. Faithful to the nature of TikTok movies, it seems that you will not be able to use static photos as the basis of the stories but only videos.
The company hasn't provided any details on how extensively TikTok Stories is testing, nor when a full release will take place. However, various users on Twitter already claim they have access to the service. In addition to Instagram and Snapchat, all the main social networks have introduced their idea of stories, from Facebook to Linkedin, passing through Pinterest and YouTube. A few days ago, Twitter officially announced the closure of fleets, its version of volatile content.
