Accompanied by his family, the French actor must, in the coming weeks, inaugurate the plaque that will bear his name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“More than an end of career, it is an end of life.

It's a bit of a posthumous tribute, but in my lifetime.

But we have to go and I will go. "

It is with these words that Alain Delon had received the tribute that the Cannes Film Festival had reserved for him in 2019. Two years later, the actor will again "leave".

This time for California.

Although diminished by health accidents, Alain Delon, 85, is determined to honor with his presence the inauguration of a star in his name on the Walk of Fame, the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard.

The project has been in the works for several months, delayed by his physical condition and by the pandemic.

According to

Paris Match,

it is even with his family, with his daughter Anouchka and his sons Anthony and Alain-Fabien, that he should go to California.

Although relations have not always been easy in the Delon family, the succession of bad news hitting the actor has, according to his relatives, tighten very distended ties.

The death of Mireille Darc in 2017, that of Nathalie Delon (Anthony's mother) last January, health accidents brought the siblings and their father closer together, to the point of considering this trip together.

When ?

None are yet known but the ceremony could take place with the next edition of the Oscars scheduled for the end of March 2022.

For Alain Delon, who tried to conquer Hollywood at a younger age without really succeeding, the tribute is appreciable. Each year, around two hundred applications are received by the selection committee, which only retains about twenty. The lucky ones, who must pay $ 50,000 in fees, then join the some 2,700 personalities who already have a copper star set in a black terrazzo slab. Among the French who have this eternal tribute, we find Jean Renoir, Sarah Bernhardt, Maurice Chevalier, Maurice Jarre and, among the latest to date, Charles Aznavour, who inaugurated his in 2017.
