»South Park« has signed a contract worth 900 million dollars with the US media group ViacomCBS.
With the two producers Matt Stone and Trey Parker, six new seasons are planned by 2027, as well as 14 films.
Two of the films are slated to appear on Paramount + later this year.
"Matt and Trey are world-class creatives," MTV boss Chris McCarthy wrote in a statement.
"We look forward to expanding our long-term cooperation with you."
"South Park" was broadcast for the first time in the USA in 1997, and in 1999 it came on television in German.
The series tells the story of young people in the city of South Park in Colorado, it has repeatedly caused political controversy.
So far, 23 seasons of the US animation series with more than 300 episodes have appeared.
In 1999 a film came to the cinema.
Five years later, their own PC game was released with the title "South Park - The Stick of Truth".
In 2020 there was no new season for the first time, but Parker and Stone produced a "Pandemic Special" and a "South ParQ Vaccination Special".
According to information from Bloomberg, a new 3D video game is also planned to be set in the world of South Park.
The streaming market is currently highly competitive.
In the last few months, therefore, there have been several billion-dollar deals in the entertainment industry.
In May, for example, Amazon bought MGM Studios - one of the most famous Hollywood studios - for $ 8.45 billion.
