(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 06 - The funds to reconstruct the damage caused by the floods in Germany should amount to at least 10 billion euros. Spiegel reveals it according to which the cipher will be split in half between the federal government and Laender.
The sum will not be available all at once, but each year will be paid on the basis of need, the Minister of Finance informs. The government of Berlin and Laender are still struggling with exact estimates of the damage and the first data will be available next Tuesday during a joint conference between Bunde Laender on the flood issue. What is known for now is that only the cost of damage to federal infrastructures (roads, motorways, railways) is 2 billion euros, of which three-quarters concern the damage to the railway section and one-fourth to roads and motorways.
