Bagged trucks in Worms: First a pipe burst, then the pavement

Two vehicles - including a garbage truck - broke into the road in Worms in Rhineland-Palatinate because of a burst water pipe.
After the pipe burst, the road gave way to the load of the garbage truck, the police said.
The vehicle then sank so deep into the cobblestones that the driver was unable to free it on his own.
The police blocked the street and asked car owners to park their vehicles elsewhere.
Water and electricity were turned off as a precaution, it said.
The garbage truck was not the only affected vehicle: while the police operation was still ongoing, another truck parked on the roadside also collapsed.
Nobody got hurt.
It is not yet known how high the damage to property will be.
