High chart positions, three Grammys, hundreds of millions of views on streaming services - and all of this at the age of only 26.
The US rapper Meghan Thee Stallion would have every reason to hover above things in view of her great success.
But the musician from Houston, Texas, has apparently found an antidote.
"The school grounded me," said the rapper to the US magazine "People".
The artist, who mostly only poses scantily dressed in her music videos, is pursuing a degree in addition to her music career.
She is doing a part-time degree in health management from Texas Southern University.
"I can have a great night, but knowing I have to do a paper, project, or term paper to complete my degree keeps me on track," she told the magazine.
Regarding the criticism of the homophobic remarks by her rapper colleague DaBaby, the 26-year-old said that a debate on the subject was long overdue.
DaBaby had been unloaded from the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago after his verbal failures.
"The crowd was incredible and had so much energy"
She was delighted about her own appearance at the festival last weekend in Chicago.
"The crowd was incredible and had so much energy," enthused the singer.
She love being back on stage.
She kept a low profile on her next project.
However, it will be "a complete shock and a complete surprise."
In the past, the Texan had, among other things, announced that she wanted to open facilities for assisted living in Houston.
