(ANSA) - ROME, 07 AUG - Queues on the roads and to take ferries to the islands;

crowded stations and airports; beaches and mountain paths full of tourists.

Holidays are starting for many Italians: 4 out of 10 traveling today, a day of 'black bubble' for traffic but also hot for the weather.

   What promises to be the hottest week of the year.

   And if the North is still partly marked by thunderstorms, in the South, especially in Calabria and Sicily, there is high attention for fires.

    Weather alert in one of the most popular holiday destinations in Northern Italy. In Courmayeur the heavy rains expected in the next few hours in the Aosta Valley lead to level 4, the highest, the risk that the Planpincieaux glacier collapses in the valley of the Mont Blanc massif. For this reason the roads to Planpincieux and Rochefort in Val Ferret are temporarily closed.

    Busy roads and motorways, while in Fiumicino, due to the increase in departures, Terminal 1 was reopened, after closing for 17 months due to Covid. (HANDLE).
