(ANSA) - BANGKOK, AUG 07 - Thai police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at hundreds of protesters in Bangkok who had taken to the streets to protest against the government for the management of the coronavirus pandemic.
About 500 people in Bangkok challenged the anti-Covid restrictions, recently introduced to fight a new wave of cases in Thailand, in the face of 6,000 officers deployed in riot gear. The protesters called for the resignation of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha and a change of course in the vaccination campaign with the administration of Pfizer and Moderna, instead of the Chinese Sinovac.
