Olivier Véran's latest adjustments concerning the extension of the health pass have not eased tensions, in particular with the nursing unions.

On the front of the evolution of the Covid-19 epidemic, hospital tension also continues to rise.

The increase in patients in intensive care and in hospital due to Covid-19 continues this Sunday.

The latest figures released show an increase in patients treated in hospital: 8,685 Covid-19 patients were hospitalized this Sunday evening, against 8,425 the day before.

1556 patients in intensive care, 117 new admissions

This Sunday evening 1,556 patients are suffering from a serious form of the disease which requires management within the critical care services.

This is 46 more “Covid beds” in intensive care compared to the previous day, which had 1,510 patients in critical care.

In all, 117 patients entered intensive care this Sunday.

The number of deaths is also a little lower than yesterday with 30 new patients who died as a result of the Covid against 32 yesterday but the trend remains sharply higher.

The country has recorded 48 daily deaths on average over the past seven days, an increase of 45%.

Even if the level remains however well below the previous peaks (300 or even 400).
