The passage of a storm front with heavy rain and squalls on Saturday evening in Lower Bavaria led to considerable damage in some cases.
As the police in Straubing reported, numerous trees fell on the streets and damaged cars.
A railway line was also blocked.
The areas around Passau and Simbach am Inn were particularly affected.
According to the officials, far more than 100 emergency calls were received when the storm front passed.
In total, more than 30 fallen trees were reported;
Ten trees fell down in a Simbacher Strasse.
In the vicinity of the community, a tree also fell on the railway line to Munich, which had to be temporarily closed.
According to the police, cars were damaged in a number of cases, and there were also accidents with minor injuries.
In Passau, a car driver drove into a tree lying on the street during the storm and broke his wrist.
A tree fell on a moving car near Kirchdorf am Inn.
According to the police, the driver was able to jump out of her car in time and was uninjured.
The German Weather Service had announced heavy rain, hurricane gusts and larger hail.
