Israel was, and still is, the first country to vaccinate a third vaccine for Corona citizens over the age of 60, so it is also the first to draw conclusions about its results or possible side effects of the vaccine.

A preliminary survey published last night revealed that the people who received a third dose of Pfizer's vaccine experienced side effects similar to or less than those who felt after the second injection.

Despite global criticism, Israel began offering the third thrust shot against the corona virus about ten days ago to people over the age of 60, as part of efforts to slow the spread of the contagious delta version, and to date over half a million Israelis have been vaccinated in a third dose.

The new survey, conducted by Clalit Health Fund, which vaccinated nearly a quarter of a million people, included about 4,500 people, who received the impulse shot from July 30 to August 1.

The survey included about 1,500 people aged 60-69;

About 1,300 aged 70-79;

And about 1,700 80-plus-year-olds.

The results of the survey showed that 88 percent of vaccinators indicated that in the days after receiving the third injection they felt "similar or better" to what they felt after the second injection.

"This is the first large-scale survey of this population published in Israel or in the world," said Prof. Ran Blitzer, head of Clalit's Innovation Division and director of the Clalit Research Institute. "The results, even if initial and self-reported, provide information on the side effects reported in the week after vaccination, and allow a comparison of post-dose side effects with those observed by those vaccinated after the second dose - and it turns out that in the vast majority of cases, they are similar or Less in the urge. "

"The corona continues to spread in Israel, and the incidence of its serious complications continues to rise exponentially. We have no effective solution to prevent this disease from continuing among adults, except for the urge to urinate." Prof. Blitzer added that "although we do not yet have long-term research on the efficacy and safety of the third booster dose, in the personal risk management conducted by any person aged 60+, these findings continue to point to the benefit of immunization now,This is in addition to the careful behavior of the adults and the avoidance of any gathering in a closed space during these weeks.
