Paris Saint-Germain has announced that they will play their first game of the season at the Parco dei Principi with a capacity of 100%. 47,000 900 spectators are expected on Saturday 14 August against Strasbourg. The police station confirmed to the club the absence of restrictions for this match on the second day of Ligue 1.
The last match without limits to the capacity of the stadium dates back to February 26, 2020, against Dijon. Since then, the coronavirus pandemic has led the authorities to order the total or partial closure (limit of 5,000 spectators at the beginning of last season).
"We have been waiting for this moment for 18 months," said Nicolas Arndt, director of ticketing and hospitality at PSG.
The company said that all seats on sale for the meetings with Strasbourg and Clermont (12 September) have been booked.
Fans returned to the stands of Ligue 1 last weekend, presenting a health pass. Also to access the Park of the Princes they will have to show a vaccination certificate, a negative test done in the last 48 hours or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19. Government recommendations do not mention a maximum occupancy but, locally, clubs and prefectures can provide.
