A pizza delivery man ran into Hamburg on Monday evening and was fatally injured.
The driver is said to have been under the influence of drugs.
The police is now looking for witnesses.
The 29-year-old driver caught the pizza delivery man on Lohbrügger Landstrasse with his car on Monday evening when he wanted to get into his vehicle.
The door of the pizza delivery man's car was torn off.
After the accident, the driver ran into oncoming traffic, where he collided with another car.
His car eventually rolled over on its side.
He and the two occupants of the other car - a 56-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man - were slightly injured.
Police did a blood alcohol test
According to the police spokesman, it remains to be clarified whether the person who caused the accident was traveling too quickly.
During the recording of the accident, there were indications that the 29-year-old had driven under the influence of intoxicating substances.
Therefore, a blood alcohol test was made, as a police spokesman announced.
The man's driver's license was confiscated.
The 23-year-old pizza delivery boy died in the hospital on Tuesday night, said a police spokesman.
A preliminary investigation into negligent homicide was initiated against the 29-year-old driver.
The police are now looking for witnesses who observed the accident.
