AS Monaco ideally launched its European campaign by winning on Sparta Prague. In their first leg of the Champions League third qualifying round, the Rocher players won 0-2 on the Czech turf. It was midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni who opened the scoring with a header following a corner from the 37th minute. In the second half, German ASM striker Kevin Volland doubled the lead in the 59th minute. Monaco managed to keep the score, for a favorable result for the princely club a few hours before the return match. With two goals ahead, Monaco has a comfortable mattress even if no game is played in advance. Always closer to joining Lille and PSG in the most beautiful of European football competitions, the Monegasques mustfirst confirm this Tuesday during the return match against Sparta Prague, before facing Genk or Shakhtar Donetsk in the play-offs.
