This is the conclusion of the National Union of Phonographic Edition (Snep), the interprofessional association which defends the interests of the French recording industry since 1922, which made public the figures for the first half of 2021. The harvest is good for French artists since 166 French productions out of the 200 best-selling albums of the first half of 2021, or 83%. In all, 18 French productions are ranked in the 20 best sales of the semester, with for example Gims, Nekfeu, Jul, Vianney and Aya Nakamura. Young artists are doing well, since 31 of them have placed their first album in the top 200. Among these albums, 26 were produced in France. These beautiful French scores are confirmed in the classical registers - Gautier Capuçon in first place - and jazz - Thomas Dutronc in second place -, as well as in the ranking of the most listened to paid audio streaming titles.
