This Thursday the Government will formally receive the
first million Sputnik V vaccines
against the coronavirus packaged in Argentina by the Richmond laboratory.
This was reported this afternoon by the Ministry of Health.
These are
995,125 component 1 doses and 152,500 component 2 doses
.
The doses are stored in the Andreani Pharmaceutical Logistics Operations Plant in the town of Malvinas Argentinas.
Tomorrow at 10, the Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero and the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, will formally receive the batch.
This is the
first shipment
that was formulated in the country, from the antigen provided by the Gamaleya Institute of Russia.

, the first batch of Sputnik formulated in Argentina was ready on June 18, according to the Richmond laboratory itself.
There were 448,625 doses of component 1. A sample was sent to the Gamaleya Institute for approval.
A long authorization process took more than 50 days until those sera can finally be released.
The main problem - sources in the sector said - is that Russia receives samples from different countries to approve and that creates a funnel.
Upon their return, the samples must also obtain the permission of the ANMAT, although this step is practically automatic.
The local packaging process emerged as an alternative to mitigate the gap between first and second doses received by Argentina.
According to official data,
12,468,830 Sputnik V have
arrived in the country so far
: 9,375,670 of component 1 and 3,093,160 of component 2.
This disparity has prompted progress in the strategy of combining vaccines in recent weeks, and
Moderna's is already being applied as a second dose
.
On August 3, the Russian Fund for Direct Investment and Richmond assured that during this month Argentina will have
3 million second doses of Sputnik packaged here
.
Of that total, as Clarín reported today, in Richmond they assure that they have already made 2.3 million.
The problem is that almost everything is still waiting for authorization.
