The government has just announced new measures to stop the spread of Covid-19 and the Delta variant, in metropolitan France and the West Indies, where the situation is particularly tense.
Setting up a third dose for frail people from September, delisting of PCR tests in mid-October or obligation of a health pass in shopping centers of more than 2,000m2, the government is stepping up measures in the face of the surge of the Delta variant.
A push that continues to be felt in the corridors of hospitals.

The latest figures from Public Health France show this Wednesday 9,233 patients hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection, against 9,153 yesterday.
In the last 24 hours, 773 new admissions have been recorded against 944 yesterday.
1,745 patients in intensive care
This increase in hospital patients is accompanied by a slight increase in those admitted to critical care due to Covid-19.
This Wednesday evening, 1,745 patients are suffering from a serious form of the disease which requires management in critical care, intensive care or continuous monitoring.

“Covid beds” more and more compared to the day before when these services already had 1,712 sick patients. In all, 158 patients entered critical care on Wednesday, compared to 211 the day before. The figure is lower than yesterday but the trend is still increasing.
