From 11 August series on Disney +. Boseman's latest performance (ANSA)

After the triumph of audiences and critics obtained by Loki, with his multiple versions of himself in time and space, there could not have been a better time for the debut of What If ...?, The first animated series produced by Marvel Studios, debuting there. '11 August on Disney +, which takes up one of the most original cult titles in comics, that is the homonymous collection of comics, which came to readers in 1977. The fate of superheroes and other characters of the multiverse was rewritten according to the most diverse variables. Among the protagonists in the TV version there is also Black Panther, or rather T'challa, projected in the universe of the Guardians of the Galaxy, for what was the last performance (in voice) by Chadwick Boseman. The animated series opens instead with a reversal of the field in the world of Captain America, imagining (as already revealed by the trailer) that it is Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) who finds herself in the role of Steve Rogers.

Among the other characters, we will find Thanos, and as anticipated by the Hasbro toys, Doctor Strange and an undiscovered version of Spider-Man, without forgetting, among others, in small or large participations, an avalanche of 'good' and villains Marvel, such as Thor, Loki, Hulk, Nebula, Iron Man, Vision, Maria Hill, Bucky Barnes, Ramonda, John Flynn and Nick Fury. The adaptation in nine episodes (but a second season is already in the works), directed by Bryan Andrews with AC Bradley as lead writer, has, like the first comic series and a good part of the second (released since 1989), a red thread in the presence (narrator) of an Observer, the alien Uatu, who in the animated version is voiced by Jeffrey Wright.

"I received an invitation to evaluate this new series and this new character - explained the actor to ET Online - who is mysterious, very powerful, a somewhat strange being who observes the Marvel multiverses as if he were addicted to Tiktok, Instagram and Snapchat ". A role that, according to Wright, "offered interesting possibilities" such as "offering new panoramas of stories based on well-known and beloved characters. It was a difficult invitation to turn down so I got on board." For the second season, the writers have already told Syfy that characters from the new or upcoming films will enter the field, from Black Widow to some Eternal or Shang-Chi. "It's the beautiful thing, theMarvel universe is constantly expanding - explained AC Bradley - so there are more and more toys to play with. "
