Unrest among WhatsApp users: A message informs some that they have logged out of their account - even though they have not done anything themselves.
Menlo Park - The WhatsApp messenger service is repeatedly misused for hacker attacks or attempted fraud.
The blog
WABetaInfo
, which specializes in the messenger service, now reports a new
piece of news
that many users find very worrying.
WhatsApp directly informs you that your phone number is no longer linked to WhatsApp on this smartphone.
The reason for this could be, according to the message, that the phone number was connected to WhatsApp on another device.
However, if this is not the case, you should simply confirm your phone number to log back into your account.
WhatsApp bug causes panic: Users have to do that now
Many users have now suspected that another hacker attack could be behind this.
Apparently this is not the case.
According to information from the blog, this is simply a bug by WhatsApp itself. This causes the respective users to keep losing the connection to the WhatsApp account and are therefore automatically logged out.
Only Android users are currently affected.
If you have been recently logged out from WhatsApp, on WhatsApp for Android, don't worry: it's a bug.
You can log into WhatsApp again.
