Called to strike by the Force Ouvrière (FO) union from Thursday, the employees of the Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (APHP) did not mobilize much on the first day.
According to figures communicated by AP-HP to
Le Figaro
, only 0.05% of employees were on strike and absent, or less than 25 people.
More broadly, 0.41% were on strike or on assignment - that is, they reported to work normally, but identified themselves as participating in the strike movement.
This represents a total of less than 200 people.

This call to the FO strike was intended to protest against the vaccination obligation imposed on caregivers.
From October 15, they will have to be able to prove, in order to work, that they have a complete vaccination schedule.
Concretely, this means that all caregivers must have received at least a first dose before September 15.

According to the AP-HP, vaccination progresses differently depending on the category to which the employees belong: nursing assistants are thus vaccinated only 49%, when 94% of doctors have completed their vaccination schedule. The government, which seeks to push these figures even higher, has remained faithful to its policy of compulsory vaccination in recent weeks, despite the challenges that may have emerged among caregivers. At the end of last week, the Minister of Health thus drove the point home during a visit to the Aix-en-Provence hospital center. According to Olivier Véran, unvaccinated caregivers could be "
