Former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder does not like the abolition of currywurst at all - he ventures on LinkedIn.
Now Rügenwalder Mühle reacts with a counterattack - but Schröder's wife holds against it.
Wolfsburg - The automobile manufacturer Volkswagen announced a few days ago that the menu in the Wolfsburg canteen will be revised.
Since the company wants to become more sustainable, the meat products are to be removed from the canteen plan.
This message did not leave ex-Chancellor Gerhard Schröder without a trace.
He let his anger run wild at the planned changes in the social networks.
On his LinkedIn profile it says: “If I were still on the supervisory board of #VW, there would not have been something like that.” Schröder is of the opinion that the currywurst is “one of the power bars of the skilled worker in production”.
Rügenwalder Mühle now responded to his passionate praise for the currywurst, which was tagged with the hashtag #rettetdieCurrywurst.

Schröder and the Currywurst - Rügenwalder Mühle counters in the social media
The company Rügenwalder Mühle responded to Schröder's plea on their LinkedIn account and on Twitter.
Rügenwalder is originally known for its meat products.
In recent years, however, the family business has established itself as the most successful manufacturer of plant-based meat substitute products.
The answer to Schröder's praise must therefore be taken with humor.
In the tweet, Rügenwalder calls on the ex-chancellor to try their vegan currywurst.
It is not known whether Schröder agreed to this.
#saves the currywurst?
We did it long ago!
Dear @gerdschroeder, we invite you to try our currywurst and share your opinion.
For the employees at @VW, for ex-Chancellors - for everyone who loves currywurst and doesn't want to do without it.

Currywurst debate: Gerhard Schröder and his wife follow up with Instagram post
In a post on his wife Soyeon Schröder-Kim's Instagram account, the couple add a shovel to the currywurst debate.
Under the post, Schröder-Kim writes: “We like to go to Konnopke, Curry 36 and Bier's Kudamm 195. With a bottle of beer, of course.” The picture shows the two eating currywurst and french fries.

Under the hashtag #rettetdieCurrywurst, which Schröder-Kim and Rügenwalder also used, many more amounts are now piling up.
Former Chancellor Schröder already received a lot of encouragement under his LinkedIn post.
Whether and how Rügenwalder or VW will react to the Instagram post remains to be seen.
