The police took an 82-year-old from her bike on a motorway in Baden-Württemberg: the woman was on the hard shoulder on Friday at around 6 p.m. on the BAB 96 towards Memmingen, the police said.
Another road user was able to encourage them to stop until a patrol from the motorway police arrived.
The woman said she followed the signs to Kißlegg and unintentionally drove onto the motorway at the Wangen Nord junction.
Education and insight
The police then had a "traffic education talk" with the cyclist.
The 82-year-old assured that she would "refrain from such an ill-considered and dangerous ride on her bike in the future," the officials said.
According to the police, other road users were not at risk.
