The Spanish waters of Sabero are tinged with silver for Italy. On the final day of the European Downhill Canoe Championships another medal arrives in the sprint races after the two golds won in the classic.
The protagonist, once again, was Cecilia Panato who brought back the continental title won in 2019.
The blue of the Canoa Club Pescantina is confirmed as three of the best international athletes in the C1, after the gold won on Wednesday in the classic downhill. Today on the fast 350 meters of the Spanish course he finished with a time of 48.31 which is worth the silver medal just two tenths from the top. The European title goes to the French Elsa Gaubert who in 48.12 precedes the blue and the other French Helene Raguenes, bronze in 48.88.
In the final of K1 Mathilde Rosa fails to repeat the success of 2019. The paddlewoman of CUS Pavia, new European champion in the classic, must be satisfied with the eighth time in 44.52. Seventh place for Panato in 44.15, while the continental title went to Frenchwoman Pauline Freslon.
In the Canadian single-seater Tommaso Mapelli (Cassano d'Adda) and Giacomo Bianchetti (Palazzolo sull'Oglio) close the final respectively in seventh (44.03) and eighth place (44.12).
Gold medal to the French Quentin Dazeur (42.06). The two Azzurri then finished in sixth place in the C2 final won by the French Dazeur-Santamaria.
