(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 14 - At least 225 people died in the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit Haiti, according to Haitian civil protection.
On the spot there is news of many collapsed houses as well as churches and other historic buildings.
But according to the USGS, the US geoseismic institute, the situation is a "red alert" and could result in the deaths of thousands of people.
