The number of hospitalized patients is still on the rise. It stood at 10,151 patients on Monday, against 9,798 on Sunday.

After bars, restaurants, hospitals and trains, more than 120 large shopping centers and stores in the Paris region and the southern half of France now systematically check the health pass.

This new step comes as the Covid-19 epidemic is still impacting hospitalizations in France, including critical care services.

According to figures from the health authorities published on Monday, the number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients has crossed the symbolic barrier of 10,000 patients (10,151).

They were 9,798 Sunday and 9,022 Monday, August 9.

Of these patients, 950 have been admitted in the past 24 hours.

Nearly 112,800 dead

Hospitalizations in critical care units, which take care of the most serious cases, also continue to increase, with 1,908 patients (1,852 Sunday, 1,667 seven days ago), including 178 in 24 hours.

This indicator, closely scrutinized by health authorities who want to avoid saturation of hospitals as in the West Indies, fell below the threshold of 1000 patients on July 7.

Between Sunday and Monday, 97 people succumbed to Covid (44 counted on Sunday, 68 Monday, August 9), bringing the total toll to 112,799 deaths since the start of the epidemic in March 2020.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, more than 46 million people have received at least one injection (46,494,384 precisely, or 69% of the total population).

More than 39 million people -39,417,418 to be precise- now have a complete vaccination schedule (ie 58.5% of the total population).
