On a beach near the eastern English town of Great Yarmouth, a work by the artist Banksy has been painted over because of a death nearby.
In view of a tragic accident in which a girl was killed on a burst inflatable trampoline in 2018, the work on the beach had been removed, the city administration said according to a BBC report.
This decision respects the feelings of the local people, it said.
Banksy's work shows an inflatable dinghy with a girl holding onto the edge.
The boat has lost its connection to a bellows operated by a man who is drinking.
"We thank Banksy for the wonderful work of art and acknowledge that the artist was not aware of these circumstances," said the message.
One is confident that the work can be restored and later shown in a different, more appropriate place.
BBC recordings show that the motif has been covered with gray paint.
The inflatable boat is part of Banksy's "Great British Staycation," which the mysterious artist committed himself to via Instagram video over the weekend.
Motifs of his had surfaced in several cities on the East English North Sea coast in recent weeks.
