CINEMA CRITICISM - Inspired by a true story of police officers tried for having extorted from dealers and sellers of contraband cigarettes, Cédric Jimenez's film shows how some cross the yellow line.

Scheduled to be released on December 23, 2020 and postponed because of the Covid,

BAC north

had been

gathering

dust for months.

Its selection last May at the Cannes Film Festival, out of competition, was a golden opportunity to freshen up and arrive in theaters refreshed in mid-August.

The film of Cédric Jimenez especially left the Croisette with an annoying controversy.

During the press conference, Fiachra Gibbons, Irish journalist at AFP, put his foot in the dish from the first question.

After congratulating the team for this

“very, very strong” film

, the man threw thistles as flowers:

“We are in an election year.

I saw it through the eyes of a stranger and I said to myself: “Ah, yes, maybe I'll vote Le Pen after that”. ”

Gibbons explained that he came from a city in Ireland and that he was embarrassed by this vision of the northern districts of Marseille, shown according to him as "areas outside civilization", the same as that conveyed in the French media.
