Coronavirus in Argentina: 8,172 new cases and another 300 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours

After the long weekend in which the lowest contagion figures of the second wave were reported, the Government updated the numbers of the pandemic in Argentina.

In the last 24 hours,

8,172 new cases

and another

300 deaths

from coronavirus were reported.

Since the beginning of the health crisis, the country has exceeded 5 million infections detected and 109 thousand deaths.

The part released this afternoon by the Ministry of Health, based on data provided by the provinces, is given after Sunday and Monday

Between Wednesday and Saturday,

another 2.6 million vaccines

against covid-19

will arrive in Argentina

.

In this way, according to the Ministry of Health, the 47 million doses received since December last year will be exceeded.

Most of the sera will be from the Chinese

Sinopharm

vaccine

.

In total, 2,304,000 will arrive on three flights, according to the following schedule: 819,200 doses on Wednesday, 716,800 on Thursday and 768,000 on Saturday.

These doses are part of the current contract with the Chinese laboratory, for a total of 24 million vaccines.

The first 8 million arrived in July, and these three shipments are part of the second tranche of 8 million scheduled for August.

The rest, as announced, should arrive in September.

This week another 2.6 million vaccines against the coronavirus will arrive in Argentina.

Unlike the operation that was mounted last month, when 10 Aerolineas Argentinas flights made the transfers, this time they will arrive on Lufthansa planes.

On the other hand, this Wednesday 381,000 doses of the

AstraZeneca

vaccine will also be received

from Mexico.

According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 2.2 million doses of this serum is expected to arrive this month.
